Full job description

Wheatfield Surgery is a medium sized practice with a friendly environment and 12,000 patients. We are a training practice and are part of a successful Primary Care Network. The role consists of front house reception, telephone services and managing patient enquiries through our digital platform.

We are looking for a reliable individual with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people in a kind, professional and caring way. Work effectively with colleagues as part of a team.

We are looking for a candidate with a previous experience of working in the NHS. Knowledge of SystmOne is desirable, however, a full training will be provided.

A willingness to learn and progress with a ‘can do’ attitude is essential.
Candidates will need to be comfortable with working under pressure and have a flexible approach to tasks and be proactive in solving problems. They must be able to engage positively with patients and colleagues. Candidates will also be supported to use the latest technology. Responding to patient queries and liaising with the wider primary care team. Managing appointment requests and signposting patients to our own as well as external health services. Maintaining patient records and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Taking part in all mandatory training, team meetings, annual appraisal and continued education, learning and development. To be considered for this exciting role you must have: Reception or customer care experience is essential. The person must be an excellent communicator both spoken and written. Must have PC skills will be able to use basic Word, Excel and email. Must be able to work within processes/procedures.

Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional/alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check. Please note this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions

We are looking for a candidate to cover 25 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 1:30pm-6:30pm.
