Role: CAD / Revit Technician M&E (2 positions available) Pay negotiable subject to experience
Job Summary:
This technical role involves producing high-quality technical drawings and CAD documentation to support MEP engineering projects. The job holder will possess strong AutoCAD skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards and quality assurance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Drawing Production & Documentation:
· Produce accurate technical drawings, plans, sections, and details using AutoCAD and other design software
· Create and maintain drawing schedules, legends, and technical specifications
· Ensure all drawings comply with company CAD standards, templates, and protocols
· Prepare drawings for various project stages from concept through to construction
· Coordinate drawing revisions and maintain accurate version control records
· Support the production of tender packages and construction documentation
Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance:
· Follow established CAD standards and quality assurance procedures for all drawing outputs
· Conduct self-checking and peer reviews to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness
· Maintain consistency in drawing presentation, annotation, and dimensioning standards
· Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards, building regulations, and client-specific requirements
· Report quality issues and suggest improvements to drawing standards and processes
· Participate in quality audits and implement corrective measures as required
Health & Safety Implementation:
- Ensure drawings clearly communicate safety-critical information and hazard warnings
- Include appropriate safety annotations, symbols, and notes in accordance with CDM regulations
- Coordinate with design teams to reflect risk assessments and safety measures in drawings
- Highlight potential construction hazards and access requirements in technical details
- Maintain awareness of health and safety implications in design documentation
Project Support & Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers to deliver project requirements
- Attend project meetings and design coordination sessions as required
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and project documentation
- Support site surveys, measurements, and as-built drawing production
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors on drawing requirements and file exchanges
- Manage multiple project assignments and prioritize workload effectively
Technical Development & Software Proficiency:
- Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD and stay updated with software developments and new features
- Learn and adapt to new CAD software and technologies as required by projects
- Support BIM workflows and 3D modelling activities when required
- Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members
Qualifications & Experience:
- BTEC, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Architecture, or CAD/Technical Drawing
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in CAD production within construction, engineering, or related industry.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD with knowledge of industry-standard drawing practices.
- Understanding of UK building regulations, British Standards, and construction documentation
- Basic knowledge of health and safety principles in construction and design
- Experience with other CAD software is advantageous.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and 3D modeling (Revit) is desirable

Pay: £22,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
