Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, preparing beverages and food items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring quality standards are met.
Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner.
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other light snacks.
Maintain cleanliness of the café and bar area, including tables, counters, and kitchen surfaces.
Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
Operate cash registers accurately and handle cash transactions efficiently.
Restock supplies and organise storage areas to ensure smooth daily operations.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising service quality.

Qualifications

Previous barista experience is essential
Previous bar experience advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure during peak hours while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: From £12.71 per hour
