Full job description

Natural Stone Surfaces are a leading fabricator of stone worktops. We are based in Chapel en le Frith and cover the whole of the UK. Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit new a new Yard Operative to assist with all shipping activities and truck loading, communicating with all departments to ensure the efficient and on-time delivery to the correct location.

Job description

Ensuring a safe working area at all times
Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within all yard and storage areas as well as in the vehicle
Remove stock from shipment delivery trucks
Ensuring the correct and safe storage of slabs
Ensure all old stock is accessible before new stock is used, supporting a FIFO (First In, First Out) process with old stock in front of new
Ongoing stock counts on daily/weekly basis with check against recorded quantities to ensure complete accuracy at all times
Tracking of stock and supplies that need restocking;
Support other team members as required once duties are complete and in order.
Skilled and proficient at entering and verifying data and maintaining necessary driver records
Fork Lift Truck and other truck related qualifications are desirable but refresher training can be given
Self-motivated, proactive individual
Full flexibility with working hours, willing to work some weekends on an overtime basis
Capable of working in a pressurised environment
Adaptable and a good team player with demonstrable skills
Able to build and maintain effective working relationships
Able to effectively communicate with team members
Enquiring mind, willingness to adopt new approaches
Able to demonstrate good verbal and numerical skill
48 hours per week, paid breaks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
