Full job description

Trainee Dental Nurse

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Dental Nurse to join our friendly and supportive dental practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a rewarding career in dentistry while working towards a recognised dental nursing qualification.

As a Trainee Dental Nurse, you will work closely with our dentists and clinical team, learning essential skills while providing outstanding care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.
Clean, disinfect and sterilise dental instruments in line with infection prevention and control guidelines.
Ensure patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit.
Maintain accurate patient records using the practice management system.
Follow all health and safety, cross-infection and safeguarding procedures.
Monitor and replenish dental materials and clinical supplies.
Assist with reception duties when required, including booking appointments and answering telephone enquiries.
Attend and successfully complete an approved dental nursing qualification if not already enrolled.
Work as part of a professional team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Requirements

A genuine interest in pursuing a career in dental nursing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Friendly, caring and professional manner.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Basic IT skills.
Reliable, punctual and eager to learn.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are desirable.
Enrolled on, or willing to enrol on, a recognised dental nursing course (preferred).
