Job Title: Full-Time Secretary / Office Administrator – Criminal Defence Solicitors

Location: Cosham, Portsmouth

Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

We are a busy and well-established Criminal Defence Solicitors' practice seeking a reliable, organised, and professional Full-Time Secretary / Office Administrator to join our friendly office team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and secretarial skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Audio typing using digital dictation.
Providing secretarial support to solicitors.
Meeting and greeting clients at reception.
Answering and directing telephone calls professionally.
Managing appointments and diaries.
Preparing legal correspondence and documents.
General office administration, filing, and document management.
Handling incoming and outgoing post.
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Previous secretarial or administrative experience (legal experience is advantageous but not essential).
Excellent audio typing and keyboard skills.
Experience using digital dictation systems.
Strong communication and telephone manner.
Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Reliable and punctual.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Discreet with confidential information.
