Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a professional and vigilant Security Officer (SIA) to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will hold a valid SIA licence and possess a keen eye for detail, with a strong commitment to maintaining a secure environment. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team dedicated to safeguarding assets and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who are proactive, responsible, and capable of handling various security scenarios.

Responsibilities

Monitor surveillance footage using CCTV systems to detect suspicious activity or security breaches
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and identify potential hazards
Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer behaviour and preventing theft or vandalism
Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies in accordance with established procedures
Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks
Assist visitors and staff by providing directions or information while maintaining a professional presence
Enforce access control policies by checking identification and issuing visitor passes as required
Administer basic first aid in case of minor injuries until emergency services arrive (training provided)

Skills

Valid SIA licence with recognised security qualifications
Proven experience in surveillance, CCTV operation, or loss prevention preferred
Strong observational skills with the ability to identify potential threats or irregularities quickly
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanour
Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations
Basic first aid knowledge is desirable; training can be provided for suitable candidates
Organised with attention to detail and the ability to complete detailed reports accurately
