Turn a mission into an operating engine: take shared, debt-free co-ownership from a belief to a system that runs flawlessly at 10x scale.
This is not a job. It is a calling.
Start with why
To connect people in shared prosperity, so that the economy serves the many, not the few.
We think the economy has it backwards. It works brilliantly, for the few. It lends people a life and charges them for the privilege, profits most when they struggle, and teaches everyone to fight alone. We believe in an older, better idea: prosperity is something we build together.
So we are building a financial system without interest, without debt and without exploitation, where risk and reward are shared fairly, and where growing wealth and sharing it are the same act. Our first proof: people buy their home debt-free through co-ownership. The buyer owns from 5% on day one; a community of everyday investors, from £50, partners for the rest; rent is paid only on the share not yet owned and shrinks every quarter as the buyer staircases to 100%. Our investors can share part of their monthly returns with charities they choose. It is built on Islamic values, riba-free, amana, brotherhood, and open to absolutely everyone.
If that paragraph made you feel something, keep reading. If it didn't, this role is not for you, and that's okay.
Why this role exists: we need our How person
As COO you will take a mission, replace debt with partnership, and turn it into operations that run flawlessly at scale: onboarding a family into co-ownership, moving £50 from a first-time investor into a real home, paying a dividend on the last day of every month, passing a share of it to a charity, and doing all of it inside FCA regulation without ever borrowing the logic of the system we are replacing. The Why is the destination; you own the route.
What you'll own
- Operating engine. Design and run end-to-end operations across the platform: property acquisition and SPV administration, homebuyer onboarding, quarterly staircasing, monthly dividend distribution, Amana investments and auto-invest flows.
- Regulatory operations. Own operational compliance in an FCA-regulated environment, controls, reporting, risk frameworks and audit-readiness, treating regulation as trust infrastructure, not friction.
- Scale without betrayal. Grow the platform 10x while keeping every process aligned with our principles. As part of the executive team, it's your responsibility to ensure our vision doesn't dilute: if a feature, fee or partner quietly reintroduces debt, hidden fees or one-sided risk, it doesn't ship, whatever the revenue.
- Unit economics. Make shared prosperity commercially unstoppable: pricing, margins and cost discipline that prove ethical finance outperforms extractive finance.
- Partnerships. Build the operational rails with Shariah advisors, charity partners, property partners and payment providers.
- Team and culture. Hire and lead operators who believe what we believe, and keep the Why alive in daily decisions as we grow.
Who you are
A believer first. You've read our Why and it validates something you already felt: that finance should connect people, not set them against each other. You want your decade to count for the many, not the few.
- Fintech experience is paramount. 10+ years in operations leadership, with significant time in fintech, investment platforms, wealthtech, proptech or payments, and at least one journey from early stage to scale.
- Regulated-environment fluency. You've operated inside FCA (or equivalent) regulation and know how to build compliant processes that still feel effortless to customers.
- Builder of systems, not just fixer of problems. You turn ambiguity into playbooks, playbooks into automation, and automation into headroom for the next 10x.
- Commercial and rigorous. P&L ownership, data-driven decisions, and the discipline to say no to profitable ideas that fail our principles.
Desirable: knowledge of Islamic finance (musharakah, ijara, riba-free structures), property investment operations, or SPV/fund administration. Belief matters more than background: we will teach you the structures, we cannot teach you to care.
The principles you'll guard
Five filters govern every decision at Bayuti. As COO, you are their keeper:
- Share risk and reward, always. No one carries the downside alone while another keeps the upside.
- Never profit from hardship. No interest, no penalty traps. We earn only when people progress.
- Open the door to everyone. From £50 to invest, from 5% to own. Patient steps beat exclusive ones.
- Care for each other, like family. Buyers and investors are partners in the same asset. No one builds alone.
- Share the wealth we grow. Giving is built into the product. Prosperity and generosity are one motion.
What we offer
- The chance to build a new economic system, not another app. Your operational decisions will shape how thousands of families own their homes and build wealth.
- A genuine seat at the table: executive role, potential equity, and a direct relationship with the founder.
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience, and a team bound by shared values rather than job descriptions.
"Why does our Why matter to you?"
Tell us what you would protect first, and what you would build first. Use of AI is fine for rephrasing or correcting grammar, but it can't replace your true beliefs. We read every reply.
