Warehouse Maintenance Technician/Facilities Assistant

Mercia Park

Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.00pm (flexibility is required as well as occasional evenings/weekends)

DSV are recruiting for a facilities assistant to be responsible for the upkeep and repair of all warehouse equipment and facilities. The role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

You will have a strong mechanical background and be committed to quality and safety. The role is based within a warehouse environment and may include exposure to noise, dust and varying temperatures.

What will you be doing?

Conduct regular inspections of warehouse facilities, machinery and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyor systems and other warehouse machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical electrical and plumbing issues and coordinate repairs as necessary
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities including work orders and inventory of parts
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
Assist in the set up and dismantling of warehouse layouts as needed for new inventory or seasonal changes.
Collaborate with warehouse staff to minimize disruption during maintenance activities
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and perform repairs in a timely manner
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of maintenance tool, equipment and storage areas
Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to warehouse maintenance

About You

High School diploma or equivalent vocational training or certification in maintenance or related field is preferred.
Previous experience in a warehouse maintenance role or similar position
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a warehouse environment
Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred)
Excellent communication and team work skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed
