Qualified Dental Nurse/Experienced Trainee Dental Nurse (Part-Time or Full-Time)

Location: Cardiff City Centre
Practice: Hywel Samuel and Associates
Job Type: Part-time or Full-time
Salary: £25,025 – £28,000 per year (pro rata for part-time, dependent on experience and role responsibilities)

About Us

Hywel Samuel and Associates is a modern, purpose-built dental practice located in the heart of Cardiff City Centre. With over 40 years of trusted service, we are a predominantly NHS practice with a growing private patient base, offering treatments including Invisalign, dental implants, and a full range of general and cosmetic dentistry.

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and motivated Qualified Dental Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. We can offer either a part-time or full-time position, however availability to work on Wednesdays and Thursdays is essential.

We will also consider applications from a Trainee Dental Nurse who is currently enrolled on a recognised dental nursing qualification and has a minimum of 1 year's chairside dental nursing experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across both of our practice locations, including our Cardiff City Centre practice and our Bute Street practice, according to the needs of the business. Flexibility to travel between sites is therefore essential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide clinical and chairside support to dentists and hygienists
Carry out instrument decontamination in accordance with WHTM 01-05 guidelines
Assist with reception duties when required
Maintain high standards of patient care, cross-infection control, and clinical compliance

Requirements

Qualified Dental Nurse Applicants:

Minimum 1 years of dental nursing experience as a qualified nurse (required)
Valid GDC registration (required)

Trainee Dental Nurse Applicants:

Currently enrolled on a recognised dental nursing qualification
Minimum 1 year of chairside dental nursing experience
Able to demonstrate commitment to completing their qualification

For All Applicants:

Reception experience desirable
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Availability to work Wednesdays and Thursdays (essential)

The successful candidate must be able to provide:

Two forms of ID
Evidence of Hepatitis B immunisation
Enhanced DBS check
Two professional references
Valid GDC registration (if qualified)
