Location: Bliss Childcare and Nursery School, Southfields
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Requirements

Level 3 Early Years/Childcare Qualification (essential).
Previous experience working within a nursery, preschool, or similar childcare setting.
Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Passion for supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to promoting child welfare.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering high-quality childcare.
Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Level 3 Qualified Room Leader to join our welcoming team at Bliss Childcare and Nursery School in Southfields.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced early years professional to take the next step in their career — leading a room, mentoring staff, and helping children thrive during their most formative years. You'll create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can learn, develop, and reach their full potential.

Key Person Duties

Act as key person for a designated group of children
Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families
Provide regular updates to parents/carers on progress and wellbeing
Support each child's individual learning and development needs

Safeguarding & Welfare

Promote safeguarding and child welfare at all times
Follow nursery policies to ensure children's safety and wellbeing
Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment
Support daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care, and nappy changing where required

Teamwork & Leadership

Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding childcare and education
Support and mentor room staff, contributing to a positive team culture
Contribute to the nursery's continuous improvement
Take part in training, team meetings, and professional development

What We're Looking For

Level 3 Early Years/Childcare Qualification (essential)
Previous experience in a nursery, preschool, or similar setting
Strong knowledge of the EYFS 2024 framework
Sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
A caring, positive, and enthusiastic approach to early years education
Creative and energetic, with the ability to engage children through play
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Organised, dependable, and a strong team player

Additional Information

An enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references are required prior to employment
The role includes supporting children's daily care routines, including feeding, hygiene, and personal care
