We are currently seeking passionate, service-driven and versatile Tea Ambassadors to join our London team.

Our London operations currently include our iconic Covent Garden Flagship Store and our prestigious Selfridges concession, with future opportunities to support additional locations, concessions, events and business developments across London.

Our Covent Garden Flagship Store is a unique destination, combining an elegant tea boutique, the largest tea wall in the world, a renowned tearoom and restaurant, takeaway service, terrace and private event spaces.
Our Selfridges concession offers customers a premium retail experience within one of London's most celebrated luxury department stores.
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, expert product knowledge and memorable experiences to a diverse international clientele.
The Role
As a Tea Ambassador / Sales Associate, you will be a true ambassador for the Mariage Frères brand, delivering an exceptional customer and guest experience across both retail and hospitality environments.
This is a varied role requiring flexibility, adaptability and a genuine passion for customer service.
Depending on business needs, you may support luxury retail sales, guest hosting, customer service, takeaway operations and hospitality activities within our London locations.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy engaging with people, have a passion for excellence and thrive in a fast-paced luxury environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Guest Experience
- Welcome customers and guests with warmth, professionalism and elegance.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at every stage of the customer journey.
- Build meaningful relationships with customers and encourage loyalty.
- Confidently engage with local and international clientele.
- Act as a host or hostess when required, welcoming and directing guests throughout the site.
- Support guest flow between the boutique, tea room, takeaway area and terrace.
- Ensure every customer receives a memorable and personalised experience.
Retail Sales
- Advise customers on teas, tea accessories, gifts and seasonal collections.
- Share knowledge about Mariage Frères products, heritage and tea culture.
- Promote new products and seasonal launches.
- Achieve individual and team sales objectives.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain excellent visual merchandising and presentation standards.
- Support stock replenishment and inventory organisation.
Hospitality & Operational Support
- Support takeaway food and beverage operations when required.
- Assist hospitality teams during busy periods.
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Support opening and closing procedures.
- Follow company procedures, operational standards and health & safety requirements.
- Contribute positively to team performance and support colleagues across departments.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to support both retail and hospitality activities.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable
- Experience in luxury retail, premium hospitality, restaurants, hotels, department stores or premium food & beverage environments.
- Additional language skills.
- French language skills would be a strong advantage.
- Interest in tea, gastronomy, luxury products or fine food.
- Experience as a host or hostess.
Availability & Flexibility
Full-Time Opportunities
- Full-time positions available.
- Availability to work Monday to Sunday according to business needs.
- Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays, early shifts and late shifts.
Part-Time Opportunities
- Part-time positions available:
- 16 hours per week: Saturday and Sunday.
- 24 hours per week: Saturday, Sunday and one additional shift during the week.
- Weekend availability is essential for all part-time positions.
- Additional shifts and hours may be available during peak trading periods, seasonal events, holiday cover and business needs.
- Candidates with additional availability during school, college or university holidays are particularly encouraged to apply.
- While additional hours cannot be guaranteed, flexibility to accept extra shifts when available would be highly desirable.
General Flexibility
- Flexibility to work across any existing Mariage Frères London location, including Covent Garden and Selfridges.
- As the business continues to develop, successful candidates may be required to support additional existing or future Mariage Frères locations, concessions, pop-ups, events or activations within Greater London according to business needs.
- Working schedules, locations and operational requirements may evolve according to business needs, seasonal demand and future business development.
- Successful candidates must be adaptable, flexible and willing to support the needs of the business as required.
