Service Manager – Baylis Cheltenham (OTE £75K)

Salary: £45,000–£55,000 basic salary (depending on experience) + bonus | OTE £75,000 + Company Car

Baylis Cheltenham is looking for an experienced and people-focused Service Manager to lead our busy aftersales department representing Vauxhall and Peugeot vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys developing teams, driving performance and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Offering a basic salary of £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience, with an achievable OTE of £75,000 and a company car, this role provides an excellent opportunity for an ambitious aftersales professional looking to take the next step in their career.

Essential Requirements

Full UK Driving Licence
Ability to commute within one hour of Cheltenham
Previous management experience within the motor trade (minimum 2 years preferred)
Strong understanding of aftersales operations and customer service standards

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm

You will bring:

At least 3 years’ experience in people management within an aftersales or automotive environment
A proven leadership background with strong communication skills
A target-driven and ambitious mindset
Experience coaching and developing team members with different learning styles
Strong business and analytical skills with the confidence to identify opportunities and implement improvements
A passion for delivering outstanding customer service

The Role

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the service department, ensuring operational excellence across both Vauxhall and Peugeot operations.

Key responsibilities include:

Achieving and exceeding monthly financial and departmental targets
Delivering consistently high levels of customer satisfaction
Managing and supporting: Workshop Controllers, Service Advisors, Vehicle Technicians and Apprentice Technicians
Coaching, mentoring, and developing your team
Driving departmental performance through KPIs and manufacturer standards
Ensuring full compliance with health & safety procedures
Building and maintaining strong relationships with manufacturer partners
Promoting and living the Baylis core values every day
