Are you an experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who enjoys working in a dynamic multi-disciplinary team to provide high level support for patients presenting with a wide range of spinal pathology? If so, we have an incredible position waiting for you.

You'll be at the forefront of providing evidence-based assessment and onward within a supportive team environment. IPASS is a specialist service whose key role is to facilitate stepped care between GPs and secondary care to provide effective, patient centred management of patients.

It is a Band 8a post, offered on a permanent, part-time basis (min 0.6 wte). It is appropriate for a candidate with a proven record of Advanced Level practice, or willingness to develop these skills alongside the ability to demonstrate exceptional assessment.

Consideration would be given to a band 7-8a development role dependent on experience and completion of appropriate competencies.

You will participate in triage for both spinal and pain patients referred into the IPASS service with support from the MDT where required, assimilating and gathering information to enable you to achieve this.
You'll be responsible for conducting detailed assessment of spinal pathology as well as non MSK causes of pain including but not limited to rheumatology, neurology and chronic pain.
Case discussion and presentation of patients to spinal orthopaedic consultants.
Organisation of appropriate investigations to support diagnosis and onward management plan including blood tests and MRI
Discussion of onwards management of patients in a compassionate and empathetic manner
Participation in supervision and support for MSK colleagues

The “must haves” for this role:
1. High level clinical reasoning and MSK skills evidenced through an MSc or appropriate post graduate level courses
2. Ability to identify non MSK causes of symptoms
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Able to work flexibly around working patterns as required, and ability to travel independently between locations in Berkshire to fulfil the requirements and duties of the position
