We carry out highly specialised restoration work in occupied homes and commercial premises, often while our customers are still living or working there. The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional leader to become our new Technical Performance Manager at one of our largest operational depots.

This is not a traditional management role.

It is a leadership position whose primary purpose is to develop people, raise standards and build an outstanding technical team.

You will work closely with our restoration technicians, Team Leaders and operational management, helping individuals reach their full potential while ensuring our customers continue to receive the highest standards of service.

You will spend much of your time in the field, accompanying technicians during their working day, travelling with crews, working alongside them where appropriate, coaching, mentoring and helping them continually improve. You will build credibility through your presence, your judgement and your willingness to lead by example.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Developing and coaching restoration technicians to achieve their full potential.
Raising technical standards and promoting best practice across the depot.
Supporting and mentoring Team Leaders in their development as future leaders.
Promoting the Richfords Values through your everyday leadership.
Building a positive, motivated and accountable team culture.
Improving consistency in technical quality, customer service and professional standards.
Encouraging continuous learning and the development of new technical skills.
Working alongside technicians in real working environments to provide coaching through practical experience.
Developing strong professional relationships with customers, insurers, loss adjusters, surveyors and other stakeholders.
Helping ensure that company procedures, documentation, vehicle standards and working practices are consistently maintained through leadership and example.

You will enjoy considerable autonomy in organising your time, allowing you to focus your efforts where they will have the greatest long-term impact on the development of the team and the standards we achieve.

You are someone who enjoys seeing other people succeed.

You naturally build trust and credibility with practical people. You understand how to encourage, coach and develop individuals, but you are equally comfortable holding people accountable when standards need to improve.

You are approachable, emotionally intelligent and an excellent communicator. You enjoy solving problems, developing people and creating teams that are proud of the work they do.

You are happiest spending time with your team rather than managing from behind a desk.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

Proven experience leading and developing field-based teams.

A practical, hands-on approach to leadership.
A willingness to travel regularly to customer sites.
A full UK driving licence.

Technical restoration expertise can be learned. Outstanding leadership, judgement and the ability to develop people are much harder to find.

We are therefore interested in candidates from property restoration, construction, engineering, utilities, facilities management, emergency response and other operational environments where leading, coaching and developing practical field-based teams is at the heart of the role.
