About the Role
We are seeking a Safeguarding Officer to join our Student Services team. This is a vital role supporting the safety, wellbeing and success of our learners.
You will provide advice, guidance and frontline safeguarding support, helping students overcome barriers and remain engaged in their studies. Working closely with internal teams and external agencies, you will play a key role in ensuring the College meets its safeguarding responsibilities.

- Respond to safeguarding concerns and disclosures, ensuring appropriate action is taken
- Manage and maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records
- Support students with safeguarding and wellbeing issues to enable continued participation in learning
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies to deliver effective support
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings (e.g. Child Protection, Early Help, Team Around the Family)
- Promote safeguarding and Prevent awareness across the College
- Deliver information, advice and guidance sessions to students and staff
- Support training and awareness activities in safeguarding and Prevent
- Contribute to safeguarding initiatives, campaigns and student engagement activities

Experience working with young people or vulnerable adults (e.g. education, health, youth or community setting)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and current issues affecting young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise effectively under pressure
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
