Full job description

West Wirral Group Practice is a growing, forward-thinking GP practice serving approximately 14,000 patients across West Wirral. We are a large, supportive and multidisciplinary team consisting of 11 GP partners alongside salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, ACPs, Physician Associates, HCAs and an experienced administrative team.

We are also a training practice, supporting both medical students and GP trainees, and we actively encourage learning, development and continuous improvement across all staff groups.

We are looking to recruit an organised, motivated and personable Patient Correspondence Administrator to join our friendly and supportive practice team.

This is an important administrative role supporting the smooth running of the practice, with a particular focus on referrals, patient correspondence and general secretarial duties.

The successful candidate will need excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload in a busy environment. A professional and courteous telephone manner is essential, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Main duties will include:

Processing patient referrals
Managing patient correspondence and secretarial tasks
Handling telephone queries professionally and sensitively
Supporting the wider administration team
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring confidentiality at all times

We are looking for someone who:

Has excellent communication and organisational skills
Works well both independently and within a team
Has good IT skills and attention to detail
Is polite, professional and approachable
Can prioritise workload effectively in a busy environment
Is resilient and can communicate with patients when they present as upset or frustrated

Previous experience in a GP surgery, NHS or healthcare setting would be desirable but is not essential. Experience using EMIS, Docman and NHS systems would also be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

We use Blinx PACO as our online consultation platform and continue to embrace modernisation and digital tools to improve patient care and efficiency.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
