Full job description

Health & Safety Administrator

Wills Bros Civil Engineering Ltd is seeking a Health & Safety Administrator to support the EHS Manager and Tendering Team at our Head Office in Eurocentral, Motherwell.

This is a fully office-based role. No regular site attendance or remote working is required, although occasional local site visits may be offered for development.

A health and safety qualification is not essential. Previous experience is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

This role would suit a candidate based locally to Motherwell or the surrounding are

Location: Motherwell Head Office – 100% Office-based - Monday to Friday

As our successful candidate you will be competent or looking to develop skills and experience in the following areas:

Core Requirements

High standard of written and spoken English.
Proficient in using a computer (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
Comfortable in working in an open-plan office environment full-time.
Ability to commute daily to and from Head Office in Eurocentral Motherwell for agreed working hours (some flexibility allowed to suit personal circumstance).

Day-to-Day Duties (With support and Guidance from EHS Manager).

The role is envisaged to be a 50/50 split between supporting live projects and the pre-construction and tendering team (this may fluctuate based on need and time of year).
Managing the upkeep of policies, documentation, procedures, and records.
Managing the upkeep of HSE records on the company’s tendering portals.
Sourcing records from live projects to utilitise as evidence in tender PQQ’s.
Supporting evidence for the preparation of H&S Award submissions.
Supporting the EHS Manager with preparation and administration of external and internal audits.
Managing Head Office H&S Compliance (co-ordination of inhouse and statutory inspections).
Supporting live construction projects with administrative needs as required.
Preparing communications out to live projects (toolbox talks, memos, alerts etc).
Support in maintaining the company HSE Digital Dashboard System.
Support in preparing data for senior management reports.
Some scanning/photocopy/filing of HSE records to the cloud.
Other administrative duties subject to organisational need and candidate capability and readiness.

Development Opportunities

Opportunity to grow and develop skills in HSE document creation, bid writing, inhouse training delivery and other areas if the candidate wants to develop in these areas.
Opportunity to gain experience and qualifications as a fire marshall/fire aider/mental health first aider (to support head office employees).
Opportunity to develop skills in occupational wellbeing (if this was an area the candidate was interested in).
