Full job description

Job Overview
Tiptree Patisserie is seeking a full-time Lead Machine Operator to join our team in Witham. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy food production environment, supporting the efficient and safe operation of equipment used in the manufacture of high-quality bakery and patisserie products. Tiptree Patisserie is a wholesale bakery and patisserie based in Witham and is part of the wider Wilkin & Sons group.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate and monitor a variety of production equipment to ensure smooth and efficient running of the production line.
Carry out routine checks to maintain product quality, consistency and food safety standards.
Support line changeovers, machine adjustments and basic fault finding where required.
Work closely with production colleagues to meet daily output targets and minimise downtime.
Complete relevant production records accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and health and safety at all times.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production efficiency on the OEE of production.
Report equipment issues, product concerns or safety risks promptly to the relevant supervisor or manager.

Skills

Previous experience in a manufacturing, food production or machine operating environment would be advantageous.
A practical and hands-on approach, with good attention to detail.
The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
A strong awareness of health, safety and hygiene standards.
Good timekeeping, reliability and a positive attitude to work.
A willingness to learn new processes and adapt to business needs.

Qualifications:

Essential: HAACP Level 2 and Food Safety Level 2 or equivalent qualifications
