Chelmsford (Office Based – no remote / hybrid)

5 Days Per Week – Part time hours - flexible by agreement

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (pro-rata)

About Us

Biton Systems Consultants is an established software and consultancy business serving the investment management sector. For more than 30 years we have provided specialist software solutions and consultancy services to financial services clients.

We are looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Office Manager / Administrator to support the day-to-day running of our office and help keep the business operating efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in being organised and is looking for a long-term, part-time role within a small and supportive team.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

Managing the day-to-day administration of the office
Co-ordinating office suppliers, equipment and general office requirements
Maintaining company records and filing systems
Assisting with invoicing, licence renewals and general administration
Supporting bookkeeping activities and maintaining records using Xero
Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting preparation
Supporting basic HR administration, including holiday records and recruitment administration
Scheduling meetings and maintaining shared calendars
Answering telephone calls and welcoming visitors where required
Providing general administrative support to the management team

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in an administration, office management or business support role
Experience using Xero (or similar accounting software)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
Good numeracy and record-keeping skills
Confidence working independently and managing priorities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A professional and trustworthy approach when handling confidential information
