Job Introduction

About Us

Oxfordshire County Council is seeking to appoint a Learning and Access Officer to deliver our formal and informal learning programmes and projects across the Oxfordshire Museum Service.

Home to over 112,000 objects, the Museum Service is dedicated to promoting public access to and enjoyment of its collections. This role sits within the Learning and Access team, delivering programmes across our museum sites, in schools, and in community settings.

The post focuses on developing and delivering our informal learning offer, with a particular emphasis on wellbeing. It also supports our formal learning provision.

About the Role

The Access and Engagement team will consist of six members once fully recruited.

This role involves:

Supporting volunteers to deliver informal learning activities across museum sites during school holidays
Contributing to the development of the Museum Service’s engagement programme particularly in relation to health and wellbeing
Strengthening the team’s resilience by supporting formal learning delivery when required

About you

You will bring:

Enthusiasm for museum learning and a passion for working with diverse audiences
A flexible, proactive, and positive approach
Confidence working independently and as part of a small team
Experience delivering activities for children and older people, ideally in a heritage or cultural setting

It would be beneficial if you also have:

Experience supporting volunteers
An interest in the role museums can play in health and wellbeing
