Full job description

We’re looking for an Engineering Stores Operative to join our team at our Bridgwater site, playing a key role in supporting the engineering function and keeping our operations running smoothly.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team.

As a Engineering Stores Operative, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the engineering stores, ensuring parts and materials are available when the engineering team need them.

You’ll play a crucial role in helping minimise downtime and supporting efficient site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day running of the engineering stores
Order and replenish engineering parts and consumables
Liaise with suppliers to source parts, obtain costings and manage lead times
Receive, check and put away deliveries accurately
Maintain stock control and ensure stock accuracy at all times
Use SAP to manage ordering, stock and inventory records
Support engineers by issuing parts and responding to requirements
Work proactively and independently to keep stores organised and efficient

About you:

We’re looking for someone who is:

Experienced in a stores, warehouse or stock control role (ideally within manufacturing or engineering)
Confident using systems (SAP or similar would be an advantage)
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Able to work independently and use their own initiative
Proactive, switched on and able to manage their own workload

Desirable

Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
Forklift licence (training will be provided if required)
Experience using SAP or similar systems
