Full job description

Overview

The Business Development Manager will lead the company's commercial growth strategy by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, expanding the customer base, increasing vehicle sales and rental revenue, and strengthening the company's market presence across the UK. The role will combine business strategy, client relationship management, digital marketing initiatives, market research and commercial analysis to support the continued expansion of Bonn Services.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement business development strategies to increase vehicle sales and rental contracts.

* Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities with businesses, fleet operators, local organisations and corporate clients.

* Build and maintain long-term relationships with commercial customers, finance providers, leasing companies and strategic partners.

* Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities and emerging customer demands.

* Analyse sales performance, customer behaviour and market data to recommend business improvements.

* Prepare business development plans, revenue forecasts and performance reports for senior management.

* Lead negotiations with prospective clients and commercial partners to secure profitable agreements.

* Coordinate marketing campaigns across digital platforms, including social media, Google advertising and AI-assisted marketing tools to generate qualified leads.

* Work closely with the sales team to improve lead conversion, customer retention and overall customer experience.

* Identify opportunities to expand the company's service portfolio, including vehicle leasing, fleet solutions and after-sales services.

* Represent the company at networking events, exhibitions and trade meetings to promote the business and establish new contacts.

* Develop pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to maximise profitability while maintaining competitiveness.

* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business growth objectives.

* Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory and company policies.

Essential Skills

* Strong commercial awareness and strategic business planning skills.

* Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship management abilities.

* Experience analysing market trends and commercial data.

* Strong project management and organisational skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* High level of digital literacy, including CRM systems, Microsoft Office and business analytics software.

* Knowledge of digital marketing, social media management and AI-powered marketing tools.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver commercial objectives under pressure.

Qualifications

* A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Management, Marketing, International Business, Economics or a related discipline.

* At least two years' experience in business development, commercial management, sales management or strategic marketing.

* Experience within the automotive, vehicle rental, transport or related commercial sector would be advantageous.
