Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Volunteer Charity Shop Manager to oversee daily operations within our community retail environment. This role involves leading a team of volunteers, managing shop activities, and ensuring an excellent customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, organisational ability, and a passion for supporting charitable causes. This unpaid voluntary position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills whilst making a meaningful contribution to the community.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise volunteer staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth shop operations
Manage daily retail activities including stock organisation, merchandising, and sales transactions
Oversee customer service standards, ensuring positive interactions and maintaining high levels of satisfaction
Coordinate volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during opening hours
Maintain accurate administrative records related to sales, donations, and volunteer attendance
Organise promotional activities to increase shop visibility and maximise sales
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the shop environment
Handle phone enquiries professionally, providing information and assistance as needed
Foster a welcoming environment that encourages teamwork and volunteer retention

Experience

Previous management or supervisory experience within retail, charitable or similar environments is highly desirable
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of volunteers
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management capabilities
Effective communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal interaction
Experience in merchandising, sales management, or retail administration is advantageous
Demonstrated organisational skills with attention to detail in administrative tasks

This role offers an enriching opportunity for individuals passionate about community service and retail management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the success of our charity shop while fostering a positive environment for volunteers and visitors alike.

Pay: £1.00 per year
