Our Tipton home is a modern, welcoming and nurturing Ofsted-registered 2-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children's home supporting young people who require specialist care, consistency and therapeutic support.

Working Pattern
This is a full-time position based on a contractual average of 160 hours per month.
The role includes:
- Long day shifts
- Sleep-ins with morning support shifts
- Night waking responsibilities where required by the needs of the young people
A minimum of 10 sleep-ins per month form part of the role.
Successful applicants will be expected to work a rota which includes weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in shifts.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where young people can flourish.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Delivering high-quality care and support in line with individual care plans
- Supporting young people to develop independence and life skills
- Delivering key work sessions
- Supporting education attendance and achievement
- Facilitating and supervising family contact
- Encouraging participation in hobbies, activities and community opportunities
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Supporting young people during periods of emotional distress, dysregulation and crisis, including the use of approved physical intervention techniques where necessary and in accordance with company policy and training
- Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes and future aspirations
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
- Attending meetings and contributing to care planning
- Supporting with household tasks and maintaining a warm, welcoming and homely environment
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
Is This Role Right For You?
Residential childcare is one of the most rewarding careers available, but it can also be one of the most demanding.
The young people we support have often experienced significant trauma and may present with emotional and behavioural difficulties, complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge.
There will be times when young people are distressed, dysregulated or in crisis and require intensive support from staff.
As part of this role, you will receive specialist training to equip you with the skills and confidence to support young people safely and effectively. This includes approved physical intervention training, which may be required when a young person presents a risk to themselves, others or their environment.

Essential Requirements
- Aged 22 years or over (in line with Ofsted regulations)
- Genuine passion for supporting children and young people
- Ability to work flexibly across a rota pattern including sleep-ins
Desirable Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience working with children and young people
- Experience within residential childcare, education, youth work, supported accommodation or similar settings
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
