Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Support Worker to join our team supporting young people. This rewarding role involves providing high-quality care, guidance, and practical support to young people, helping them develop independence, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where young people feel valued, respected, and empowered. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure the individual needs of each young person are met.

Responsibilities

Provide person-centred support to young people in line with their support plans.
Build positive, professional, and trusting relationships with young people.
Promote the physical, emotional, social, and educational well-being of young people.
Support young people to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, personal care, and household tasks.
Encourage participation in education, training, employment, and recreational activities.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment at all times.
Support young people in managing challenging situations and promoting positive behaviour.
Support young people to take medication in accordance with organisational policies, procedures, and relevant training.
Complete accurate records, daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation as required.
Attend team meetings, training sessions, and supervision meetings.
Work in partnership with social workers, healthcare professionals, families, and other agencies.
Safeguard young people by following organisational policies and procedures and reporting concerns promptly.
Support young people to achieve their personal goals and celebrate their achievements.

Requirements

Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, or willingness to undertake training to develop this knowledge.
Genuine passion for supporting young people and improving their lives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.
Understanding of safeguarding principles and professional boundaries.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts where required.
Good written and verbal English skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Right to work in the UK.
A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one prior to employment is required. This role offers an enriching opportunity for individuals committed to supporting others through mentoring and educational activities within a caring environment.

Desirable

Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce, Residential Childcare, Health and Social Care, equivalent or willing to work towards
Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
Full UK driving licence (If you hold a valid driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, you must be willing to obtain business-use motor insurance to transport young people as part of your role. The company will reimburse the additional cost of upgrading your insurance to include business use)
