Self-Employed Delivery Driver

Location: Slough, Berkshire

We are a fast growing business operating in the Slough area and are currently looking for self-employed delivery drivers to support new and growing delivery routes. This is a subcontractor opportunity suited to drivers who are looking for regular delivery work while remaining self-employed.

The Role

As a self-employed delivery driver, you will be responsible for providing parcel delivery services within a defined local area around Slough. The role involves delivering parcels to both residential and business addresses, using DPD’s scanning and route management systems to complete deliveries efficiently and accurately throughout the day. Drivers are expected to plan and manage their route independently, ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in line with agreed service standards.

In addition to completing deliveries, you will be representing DPD at every customer interaction. A professional, courteous and customer-focused approach is essential, as is maintaining high standards of vehicle care, parcel handling and communication. Drivers must operate in line with DPD service and compliance requirements, respond effectively to any delivery issues that arise, and consistently provide a reliable and high-quality delivery service.

A strong work ethic and the right attitude are key to success in this role. Drivers must be punctual, dependable and well organised, arriving on time and ready to work each day. You should be comfortable working independently, managing your time effectively and maintaining focus throughout the route. Consistency, reliability and a positive approach to the work are essential, as this role requires a high level of responsibility and professionalism at all times.

Experience

Previous delivery or courier experience is preferred
Experience driving in urban or residential areas is an advantage
Familiarity with parcel delivery, route planning or handheld scanning devices is beneficial
Strong reliability, time management and customer service skills are essential

Full training and onboarding will be provided to ensure you are confident using DPD systems and processes.

What You’ll Need

✔ Full UK driving licence (held for at least 2 years)
✔ No more than 6 penalty points
✔ Right to work in the UK
✔ Self-employed status (or willingness to register)
✔ Ability to pass background and compliance checks
✔ Good communication skills and a reliable work ethic

Routes based in and around Slough Immediate starts available

Pay: £120.00-£250.00 per day
