Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grill Cook to join our busy kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and culinary excellence, with experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a professional setting, contributing to the delivery of high-quality meals for our valued customers. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing grilled dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen during service hours.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes according to recipes and customer specifications
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and surrounding areas
Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients as required
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality
Serve food promptly and courteously to customers or front-of-house staff
Follow food safety procedures at all times, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques, particularly grilling methods
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Experience in serving or front-of-house duties is a plus but not essential
A genuine passion for culinary arts and delivering excellent customer service
