Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive School Office Administrator to oversee the daily administrative operations of our Alternative Provision. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the school office, supporting staff, students, and parents. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and unique learning environment.

Responsibilities

Manage all front desk activities, including greeting visitors, answering calls, and directing enquiries efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, enrolments, and other administrative data.
Assist with the organisation of school events, meetings, and appointments.
Support teachers with administrative tasks related to lesson planning and resource management.
Handle correspondence with parents and external organisations professionally and promptly.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times.
Coordinate with teaching staff to facilitate smooth communication between students, parents, and staff members.
Assist in maintaining school policies and procedures related to administration.

Requirements

Proven experience in an administrative role within an educational setting is preferred.
Knowledge of teaching practices or experience in a teaching environment is advantageous.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional manner.
Proficiency in Google Workspace and school management software programmes such as Arbor.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment.
A friendly demeanour with a commitment to supporting a positive school community.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a an educational setting. This role offers an engaging work environment where organisational skills and a passion for education are highly valued. The School Office Administrator will be instrumental in fostering an efficient administrative framework that supports the school's educational mission.

Pay

Gross Annual Salary: £18,720 per annum
Salary paid monthly across 12 months
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Working Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)
This would be on a PAYE basis
