5 days per week - including Evenings and Weekends.

Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

This is a hands-on, guest-facing leadership role supporting the Food & Beverage Manager in the daily running of Henderson Bar & Kitchen. The focus is on delivering outstanding restaurant and bar service, driving commercial performance, and maintaining consistently high F&B standards.

The Assistant F&B Manager is the second-in-command within the department and will take full responsibility for service in the absence of the F&B Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Service & Guest Experience

Lead daily restaurant and bar service, setting the tone for pace, quality, and hospitality.
Ensure every guest receives consistent, attentive, and knowledgeable service.
Handle guest feedback and complaints quickly and professionally.
Maintain high standards of menu knowledge, upselling, and allergen awareness across the team.

Team Leadership

Supervise and support the front-of-house team, including bar and waiting staff.
Deliver clear briefings, service targets, and ongoing coaching.
Drive a motivated, disciplined, and guest-focused team culture.
Support training, onboarding, and performance management.

Restaurant & Bar Operations

Oversee smooth day-to-day service across the restaurant, bar, and private dining/events.
Manage reservations, table flow, and floor organisation to maximise covers and efficiency.
Ensure consistent standards of presentation, cleanliness, and atmosphere.
Maintain strong communication between front-of-house and kitchen to ensure smooth service delivery.

Stock, Beverage & Profitability

Support full control of bar and beverage operations, including stock levels, ordering, and rotation.
Assist with stock takes and investigate variances.
Drive GP performance through portion control, wastage reduction, and efficient service.
Support menu execution, seasonal changes, and product quality consistency.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations.
Maintain accurate records including temperature checks, allergen logs, and cleaning schedules.
Uphold brand standards across service, presentation, and guest experience.

Financial & Duty Management

Support achievement of revenue, labour, and GP targets.
Assist with rota planning to ensure efficient staffing levels across service periods.
Act as Duty Manager when required, taking responsibility for the smooth running of service in the absence of the F&B Manager.

Pay: £36,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
