Bullen are a leading Dispensing Appliance Contractor (DAC), providing specialist care and product support to patients living with stoma, continence, and wound‑care conditions.
We are seeking a Prescription Processing Clerk to join the team at Bullens. The role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of prescriptions received from NHS GP surgeries. This role ensures prescriptions are handled in full compliance with NHS guidelines, data protection requirements, and internal quality standards, supporting safe and efficient patient care.
What You'll Be Doing
- Receive, review, and process prescriptions from NHS surgeries via electronic, postal, or secure digital systems
- Accurately input prescription details into internal systems, ensuring patient and medication information is correct and aligned to expectations.
- Liaise with NHS GP surgeries to resolve queries, discrepancies, or missing information
- Prioritise urgent prescriptions to meet service-level agreements (SLAs)
- Ensure submissions to healthcare bodies are complete and accurate for dispensed items.
What You Bring
Essential:
- Eligible for NHS Smartcard via the NHS Care Identity Service and access to NHS Spine systems.
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Competent IT skills, including experience with data entry systems
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable:
- Previous experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or NHS-related administration
- Familiarity with NHS prescription processes (EPS, FP10 forms, etc.)
- Knowledge of GDPR and healthcare data governance
- Experience working with clinical or pharmacy systems
