We are growing the team at Guild Care, and need reliable, flexible Bank staff we’re proud to offer three fantastic Learning Disability (LD) services that enable adults and children to live happy, fulfilling lives. This role is based at Methold House in our Treetops Hub adult services, across both day centres;

Adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (non verbal), offering personalised support, therapies, and activities that promote independence and wellbeing.

A vibrant, activity-based day service where adults with learning disabilities can develop new skills, make friends, and enjoy creative, social, and recreational opportunities.
As a Support Worker, you need to be resilient as you’ll be at the heart of our mission, providing dedicated 1-to-1 support and befriending to individuals with learning disabilities. This role requires you to be physically fit as manual handling is involved and some of our adults have heavy wheelchairs. This may include offering personal care, but more importantly, it’s about building trust, encouraging independence, and helping people live life to the fullest.

About The Role
At Guild Care, every day brings something new. As a Learning Disability Support Worker, you will provide practical care such as helping people dress, move safely with equipment such as hoists and wheelchairs (which is physically demanding), or enjoy mealtimes with comfort and dignity. You may also support with personal care, always ensuring individuals feel respected and valued.
Beyond this, you will share in the fun and creativity that makes our services so special, from baking cakes, singing songs, and playing games, to enjoying the garden, trips to the park, or even a day at the beach. You will also encourage people to use public transport, helping them grow in confidence and increase their independence while exploring their community.
Building strong, trusting relationships is at the heart of this role. You’ll work closely not only with the people you support, but also their families, carers, and other professionals to provide truly person-centred care.

Guild Care was founded in Worthing in 1933 by visionary volunteers dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals in the local community. Originally known as Worthing Council of Social Service, the organisation focused on alleviating poverty, isolation, and health challenges during difficult times. Over the following decades, Guild Care consistently expanded its services, proactively responding to the community's evolving needs.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Guild Care established innovative day centres and residential care homes, significantly enhancing life quality for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Adapting continually, the charity later introduced specialised dementia care facilities and tailored services for those with learning disabilities.
Today, Guild Care supports over 3,000 people annually across West Sussex through a range of community-focused services. Remaining true to its founding values, the organisation is one of Worthing's largest employers, powered by almost 700 dedicated staff members and the essential contributions of more than 300 volunteers, all united in making a meaningful difference.
