Overview
We are seeking a motivated and caring Rehabilitation Support Worker on a temporary basis to provide Maternity Cover, commencing 3rd October 2026. To work 2 x Saturdays per month 8.15am - 6pm.

Hourly rate of pay £17

Driving Licence essential. Previous care experience preferred but induction training given.

JOB SUMMARY

To provide a range of support and facilities designed to aid recovery, rehabilitation and promote independence for our Client. To enable, supervise and provide personal support/motivation to our Client, under the guidance of the RSW Level 1 as required. To follow rehabilitation programmes established by specialist staff, as well as participate in planned activities, maintaining a stimulating environment, maximising our Client’s physical, emotional and mental wellbeing and safety at all times whilst adopting a joint working approach with the team. The RSW Level 2 seeks the necessary support from the RSW Level 1, Senior RSW and Team Leader whilst on shift and through supervision, to build their insight and skill awareness, in order to gain the opportunity to progress to a Level 1 RSW.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Team Leader ensures that they:

A Form a rapport with our Client and maintain a professional, constructive and positive relationship, increasing confidence and building resilience.

B Establish and maintain a constructive relationship with the professional staff and co-workers participating in our Client’s rehabilitation, whilst leading by example and acting as a role model.

C Maintain a positive working relationship with our Client’s family and Case Manager, communicating with them through agreed procedures on any matters of concern with our Client.

KEY TASKS

1 To adhere to the agreed support and rehabilitation approaches, being aware of our Client’s cognitive and physical limitations, and raise any concerns or feedback to the Team Leader, Case Manager or clinical team as appropriate.

2 To work with our Client in providing and following plans and structures for the week, creating these plans where appropriate and in conjunction with other senior staff and specialist advice.

3 To safeguard and promote amongst the team, at all times, our Client’s physical and mental wellbeing comfort and safety.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.1 Through initial training and ongoing development, maintain knowledge and understanding of the problems and repercussions of our Client’s head injury.

1.2 Maintain support and communication routines established by professionals and family involved, ensuring maintenance and further development of our Client’s abilities.

1.3 Arrange and participate in the maintenance of Neuropsychology, Neuropsychiatry and other specified programmes prescribed by the treating specialists and provide feedback to the specialists where appropriate/required to help ensure continued effectiveness.

1.4 Undertake those aspects of personal care that our Client is unable to do for herself and assist in those other aspects when requested to do so by her.

1.5 Maintain accurate daily records of support and rehabilitation undertaken, and other records required from time to time to demonstrate progress towards identified goals. In addition, review / monitor written records submitted by colleagues to ensure records remain in line with required standards, providing support, training and guidance where needed

.1.6 Ensure our Client’s rights and choices are actively promoted.

2.1 Contribute to Risk Assessments as necessary in order to ensure the health and safety of both our Client and other team members.

Ensure our Client is not placed in situations, which will put her at risk. Should this occur, follow the agreed plan or if unidentified risk, take reasonable action to deal with the situation.

3.1 Respect the need for confidentiality when possessing knowledge of a private and personal nature about our Client and family.

3.2 Endeavour not to become over involved in family affairs in a personal fashion.

3.3 Maintain a family centered approach at all times, remaining aware of the social and psychological needs of the client and family unit, and respecting the dynamics of working in a family home.

4.1 Participate in training and development provided in order to increase knowledge base from time to time.

4.2 Ensure that records of hours worked are maintained and returned to the agreed timetable.

5.1 Attend regular Supervisions and an annual appraisal with the Team Leader to review performance, set future goals, review training and support

5.2 To attend regular team meetings to share information and gain feedback from the team.
