Location: Yeovil

Salary: £26k FTE

Hours: 12 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team. The role is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, with additional support to the HR function across a range of administrative activities.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who enjoys variety and working closely with HR colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

Process monthly/weekly payroll accurately and on time
Ensure compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements, including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments
Process starters, leavers, salary changes and deductions
Respond to payroll-related queries from employees in a timely and professional manner
Preparation of month end journal to include in the accounting ledgers
Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity

HR Administration

Maintain and update employee records on HR and payroll systems
Support the onboarding process, including issuing contracts and collecting right to work documentation
Carry out employment reference checks in line with company procedures
Book and coordinate training courses, maintaining accurate training records
Provide general HR administrative support as required

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a payroll administration role
Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation
Experience of HR administration tasks is desirable
Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
Good organisational and time management skills
Competent user of payroll and HR systems and Microsoft Office
