At Heartwood Learning Trust, we’re proud to support a thriving family of fourteen academies across York, Hull, and North Yorkshire — including six secondary schools, six primary schools, and two alternative provision settings. Together, we’re committed to delivering excellence in education and support services.

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Financial Operations Officer to join our Central Services Team

This is a full time 37-hour-per-week position working a full year.

As part of a busy and collaborative team, you’ll lead on the day to day transactional financial activities of the Trust, as directed by the Finance Operations Manager, monitoring considerable expenditure totalling more than £12m per annum. This role encompasses the provision of high quality financial administration including the processing of financial transactions, regular review of open items on the ledgers, addressing queries and issues, maintaining supplier master data and preparing and posting payments.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across our academies, helping to ensure our financial processes run smoothly and efficiently. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a positive, team-focused approach will be essential to your success.

Job Details

Hours of Work: 37 Hours per Week, Full Year

Position Type: Fixed Term – Until 31st August 2027

Line Manager: Finance Operations Manager

Travel Required: Yes, dependant upon office location

The salary is dependent on current qualifications and experience, please see the attached job description for more information.
