Senior Mechanical Engineer

Leeds

Up to £50,000

37 Hours per week - Monday to Friday 9-5 (with flexible working hours)

Norse Group’s Consulting services is a national, award-winning property consultancy delivering high profile, inspiring developments to a range of public and private sector clients across the UK. NPS Leeds represents the highly successful joint venture between Norse Group and Leeds City Council, promoting sustainability and innovation across a range of property services.

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join NPS Leeds on a permanent basis. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for the design and management of Mechanical services for all construction projects across a variety of building works.

Your role will be to design and mange Mechanical Services including producing budget estimates, drawings, detailed service specifications, tender documentation and undertaking full contract administration duties on Mechanical led projects. You will be required to promote continuous improvement and deliver demonstrable high quality products and services which embrace quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

Carry out the design and management of all types of mechanical services projects including producing budget estimates, drawings, detailed service specifications, tender documentation and undertaking full contract administration duties on mechanical led projects.
Promote the use of renewable technologies.
Deliver mechanical projects in full in accordance with client’s brief and professional standards.
Champion and embed a genuine multidisciplinary approach to project delivery.
Schedule and coordinate resources, liaising with colleagues, commissioners and clients as required.
Continually monitor the profitability of projects, ensuring they are delivered within agreed professional fees and proactively taking corrective action where required.
Where required carry out condition surveys, dilapidation or specific surveys to provide information for stock condition/asset management system and/or to aid asset appraisal.
Promote and manage the competitive, efficient and effective delivery of mechanical services installations and energy management services to clients.

Our Successful Candidate will have:

Have professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers, or be working or prepared to work towards Chartered status.
Have previous management/ Supervisory experience.
Hold Membership of the Engineering Council
Have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an Mechanical Engineering related discipline
Hold a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Have experience of successfully project managing alteration and refurbishment projects from inception through to final account. Including surveying.
Working Knowledge of Standard forms of Building Service’s Contracts
Driving Licence as frequent travel to sites.
