Full job description

The Independent Social Worker is responsible for work as agreed with Flourish Fostering which may be one or more of the following:

· Consultation/Supervision

· Undertaking investigation of complaints/allegations requiring independence.

· Completion of all parts of a full Form F Assessment on prospective Foster Parents.

· Training for Foster Parents and Staff.

· Reflective Practice Groups for Staff.

· Attendance and participation at Panel.

The ISW will be experienced and hold the qualifications of either:

· CQSW

· DipSW

· BA in Social Work

· And any other further qualifications or CPD that enhance the role they are being contracted for.

The ISW will have knowledge and experience of working with looked after children or experience of working within a fostering service; knowledge of childcare legislation, particularly care planning and safeguarding; knowledge and experience of working with children/young people and working in groups. You will also have knowledge of and be familiar with:

· Ofsted

· Fostering Regulations 2011

· Fostering Services National Minimum Standards (England) 2011

· Children Act 1989

· The Children Act 2004

· Working Together 2018

· Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006

· Social Work Act 2017

Minimum requirements for working as an ISW with Flourish Fostering are:

· Excellent communication and administrative skills.

· Registration with Social Work England.

· Appropriate qualifications for the work being undertaken.

If your contract is for a specific skill such as Safeguarding Consultancy then you need to demonstrate that you have the expertise to carry out that role.

Hours: Zero Hours Contract

Freelance Work

Location: South West - UK

Confidentiality

The ISW will need to sign Flourish Fostering’s confidentiality bond and agree that either during or after the contractor’s employment, they will not disclose any Confidential Information to any third party or use the same for any purpose other than carrying out the terms of their contract. They will not be precluded from disclosing Confidential Information to the extent that they are required to do so by law or court order, provided that all reasonable efforts will be used to give the Company prior notice of any such disclosure and shall limit such disclosure to that which is legally required.

The ISW shall maintain all necessary and proper security precautions when in the possession of Confidential Information and shall not remove from the Company's premises any records of Confidential Information only to the extent it is strictly necessary for the proper performance of their duties to the Company. They must also comply with the Company's policies and procedures relating to confidentiality of information.

Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy

The ISW will familiarise themselves with Flourish Fostering’s policy and procedures on child protection and safeguarding. They will be taken through this particular policy and procedure by an authorised person before signing their contract.
