Full job description

C2HSE Training Limited is a new and growing construction industry training provider that has recently secured multiple contracts for NVQ delivery across the UK construction sector. With our operational launch planned within the next two months, we are now seeking experienced and dedicated Construction NVQ Assessors to join our growing team on a freelance basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a developing provider from the early stages, with secured learner delivery already in place and long-term growth plans underway.

We are currently recruiting assessors with experience within:

Carpentry
Bricklaying
Plumbing
Dry Lining
Construction Supervision
Construction Management

The successful candidates will be responsible for assessing and supporting learners undertaking Construction NVQs from Levels 2 through 7, ensuring learners meet industry standards and successfully achieve their qualifications.

Job Summary

We are looking for professionals with proven experience within the construction industry and a strong track record within their specialist trade or sector. Candidates must possess excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of workplace assessment and learner support.

Duties

Conduct assessments of learners undertaking Construction NVQ qualifications from Levels 2–7
Plan, deliver, and review assessment activities in line with awarding body requirements
Carry out workplace observations and review portfolio evidence
Provide constructive feedback and support to learners throughout their qualification journey
Maintain accurate assessment records, learner progress reports, and evidence submissions using IT systems
Organise and schedule assessment activity efficiently and professionally
Support learners through coaching and mentoring to encourage successful completion
Work closely with employers and training providers to facilitate workplace assessments
Ensure all assessment activity is completed in line with current industry standards and compliance requirements
Keep up to date with qualification frameworks, awarding body updates, and industry developments

Requirements

Level 3 CAVA qualification (or equivalent assessor qualification)
Proven experience within the construction industry with a strong occupational background
Previous experience assessing Construction NVQs is highly desirable
Experience using Quals Direct is preferred
Strong understanding of workplace assessment, evidence gathering, and portfolio building
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage learners independently whilst maintaining high professional standards
Proficient in the use of IT systems for record keeping and reporting
Relevant construction qualifications within your occupational area
Ability to work on a freelance/self-employed basis

Desirable

IQA qualification
Experience assessing supervisory and management NVQs
