Emerald Health Clinic is a fully remote specialist medical cannabis clinic providing evidence-based care to patients across the UK. We support patients living with chronic pain, neurological conditions, psychiatric disorders, women's health conditions, and other complex health needs where conventional treatment options have been unsuccessful. We are seeking an experienced V300 Independent Prescriber to join our growing clinical team. The successful candidate will work alongside specialist consultants, providing ongoing patient care and prescribing support within consultant-led treatment plans in a fully remote medical cannabis clinic.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside consultant specialists, experienced prescribers, and the Head of Clinical Governance in a progressive healthcare organisation at the forefront of cannabinoid medicine.
The Role
As an Independent Prescriber, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their treatment journey. Working within consultant-led treatment plans and clinic protocols, you will conduct triage assessments, medication reviews, follow-up consultations, and ongoing clinical monitoring.
You will work collaboratively with specialist consultants, the patient support team, and the governance team to ensure the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality care.
This role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient triage and assessment appointments.
- Undertake follow-up consultations and medication optimisation reviews.
- Prescribe within your scope of practice and in accordance with consultant-led treatment plans.
- Support patients prescribed cannabis-based products for medicinal use (CBPMs).
- Monitor treatment efficacy, patient outcomes, adverse effects, and ongoing suitability of treatment.
- Provide patient education regarding treatment options, safe medication use, driving guidance, and harm reduction.
- Complete accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation using electronic patient record systems.
- Ensure consultation templates and clinical records are completed in accordance with clinic standards and governance requirements.
- Escalate complex cases, concerns, or safeguarding issues appropriately.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical discussions.
- Support clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and governance initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with clinic policies, SOPs, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience through compassionate and professional care.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, or Allied Health Professional with active registration with the relevant professional body.
- Qualified Independent Prescriber.
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification prescribing experience.
- Excellent clinical assessment and consultation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing patients with long-term or complex health conditions.
- High standard of clinical record keeping and documentation.
- Comfortable working independently within a remote environment.
- Strong understanding of professional accountability and safe prescribing practice.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within medical cannabis, pain management, neurology, psychiatry, primary care, or women's health.
- Experience working in a private healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of controlled drug prescribing and associated governance requirements.
- Understanding of CQC regulations and healthcare compliance frameworks.
- Experience undertaking remote or telemedicine consultations.
Medical Cannabis Experience
Previous experience within medical cannabis is desirable but not essential.

Working Hours
37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
