I love my job as a care assistant, I hate abbeydale court carehome. I have worked here for 4 years & in that time we have had 3/4 managers, the current managers sweep everything under the carpet. Nurses & team leaders allow their favourite carers to run the floor, allocating staff & telling other carers what to do. Sometimes the residents are not getting the care they require due to under trained staff. There is a HUGE language barrier between most staff & residents which results in a stressful situation for the resident receiving care. Most enjoyable part of the job is making a difference to someone's day & knowing your doing what you can for someone in need. Worst part of the job is no work/life balance, they are always phoning for extra staff & apparently they must be able to contact you at all times(days off included). Alot of the staff are very lazy & are only there for money which in turn makes other staff members who actually care do double the work.

I have never thought one day I will be a career, but as a hard worker I believe a man must have the ability to adapt any time there is a need. The industry that welcomed me was the care sector and my little experience at home with my grand mother helped me to get more insight. By meeting these residents who have contributed to the building of this nation and listening to their personal experiences in time of war, during the big recession or as owner of a shop or more as a union worker, I always find a reason to give the best of my self for their comfort. When sitting with my co-workers, we enjoyed sharing our experiences but when we have to deal with an emergency such as a stroke case or sudden death, the atmosphere becomes so stressful and heavy that we can think of any thing else than the sorrow and pain of the family and the lost of a dear friend. 
somehow there are very lovely moment especially when a resident is discharged from Hospital back to the home or when the family of a late resident send a card of appreciation.

I  currently work here and have done from it opened. I honestly can't fault the place. The staff are a great team and all work hard to give the residents the best possible outcome. Each and every  member of staff genuinely cares greatly for the residents.  The food is top notch, and even the activity staff give it their all everyday. I've had a hard time recently and the management team have been very supportive and understanding, going out of their way to ensure I am OK. They are very approachable, and more importantly compassionate. The atmosphere has improved greatly and now feels like a home filled with family. Thank you all.

As the title depicts, Abbey Healthcare was a convenient care home due to my location. I would say management are out for themselves and it is very clear they favour certain staff. There is slight flexibility with shifts however only if your face fits. The culture amongst staff is another level I have never experienced, the hard working staff pick up the slack, become exhausted and leave whereby others bad practices are simply overlooked unless Safeguarding are involved. Honestly unless your absolutely desperate for work- I'd steer clear of this place. You can work your backside off for minimum wage and be treated better elsewhere. 

I have worked in the care sector for 8 years, I enjoyed working at kendal care home, I found it very rewarding and going home at the end of the day knowing that you have achieved the best outcomes for your clients. We all worked as a team and the management were approachable. The hardest part of the job was that it was constant all day and always working short staffed doing twice the work you should doing. Also the constant change of management whilst I worked there , there was 10 different managers in a  short space of time. The reason I left was due to this and one of the nurses was bullying a member of staff.

I worked for this company for 2 years. The management and HR department are a joke, no structure to anyone's job. To many people related to each other so nothing ever changed. 
The care staff treat each other appallingly, and the kitchen staff are expected to clean and tidy up after everyone, and run around after the staff as much as the residents. The staff demand food whenever they feel like it and wonder around the building having cigarette breaks 24/7. Horrible work environment with very little pay, and very little job satisfaction or thanks.

I started working at Abbeyhealth Care from the age of 18 during this time I have completed a BTEC level 2 and NVQ level 3.

Working at Cherrycroft Care home taught me the basics, the most enjoyable part being working with the elderly population and knowing my work is actually make a huge positive difference to their lives.

I have now been made redundant which I see as a positive part of my life because since i have been working at Cherrycroft I have been on NMW and have never had a pay rise or any help with progressing in my career.

Do not support mental health in the slightest, do not allow you time off for close relatives funerals extremely patronising behaviour towards staff if you are not in their clique management have no time to support they prefer to gossip about you instead, not very considerate of medial appointments even with over a months notice. Change the rota without telling you then expect you to be in then proceed to belittle you when you say no due to previously arraged activities

It is face paced , need to be alert and on the ball at all times , I like this way of working so isn’t stressful for me.
