Best place I’ve ever worked at! Management and staff are so supportive and friendly! No hostility whatsoever they all made me feel like I’ve always been part of the team even though I’d only been there a day! Management team are by far the best I’ve come across in a very long time they are always there if you have any concern's and you can trust that they will handle it professionally and confidentiality will be upheld, supportive with development in skills/role and they’re also there to help if workload pressure becomes too much. I would say this is the best work/life balance I’ve ever had you receive your rota for pretty much the whole year so you can easily plan things and they don’t make any changes to it without asking if that’s ok with you first! The induction process is amazing they actually give you time to shadow and get to know clients and the job role rather than chucking you in the deep end on day one! Training is amazing and fun to go to now and I have developed my knowledge a lot more through practical and theoretical training. It’s nice to finally be going and leaving work with a smile on my face and not being stressed out which is really helping my mental health all I can say is it’s thanks to the management and  my colleagues I work with for being so welcoming, kind, happy and supportive!

I found working at Aspire to be really rewarding; I felt as though I was able to contribute to improving service-users daily lives and therapeutic outcomes. Support workers are provided with a task sheet at the start of every shift, which outlines the tasks that are required to be completed each day. At the beginning of every day shift, there was a morning meeting held which consisted of every member of staff on shift coming together and discussing the daily challenges and expectations. Staff on night shifts were also provided with task sheets and were required to complete full cleaning of the houses - which I found kept me occupied on quiet nights. The overall experience I had at Aspire will definitely help me in future careers, as I gained useful skills and resilience. The hardest part of the job would be client challenges, however, I felt as though staff were adequately supported during this. The most enjoyable part of the job was developing professional relationships with clients that ensured I was contributing to their rehabilitation and outcomes - such as supporting them to complete tasks they would have previously struggled with.

I've had the pleasure of working at Aspire Health and Care for nearly three years now, and I can confidently say it’s an exceptional place to work. From day one, I’ve felt supported and valued as part of the team. The workplace culture is genuinely welcoming, fostering an environment where everyone is encouraged to grow and thrive.

I’ve worked at Aspire for just over 2 years, it was my first full time job and I had very little experience beforehand. Aspire has developed so much from when I first started, it’s became a very happy, relaxed and extremely supportive place - thanks to management and staff leaving, who caused issues. The team are like a family, nobody is ever left behind, it provides amazing support for staff’s wellbeing, training, supervision and overall shift support. As all care jobs, it has it’s cons - long shifts, waking nights, challenges within the shifts, staff members that don’t get on. However, you are heavily supported and stress levels are managed. I cannot emphasis enough how amazing the support is from management and the team. Most importantly, the clients are very well looked after, given incredible support and are genuinely cared for by staff. It’s a lovely atmosphere, even on bad days and heavily focus’ on person centred care.

Goldhill House has been a fantastic workplace experience for me. The management is incredibly supportive, always ready to assist and guide the team. Teamwork is highly valued here, creating a positive and collaborative work environment. One aspect I appreciate is the work-life balance provided, with a structured weekend rotation that allows for ample time off to recharge and relax. The yearly rota in place ensures clarity and predictability in scheduling, which is a great benefit. Moreover, the opportunity for higher pay rates for extra shifts is a nice incentive and rewards dedication. This not only acknowledges the extra effort put in but also provides a financial benefit. Overall, Goldhill House is a place where employees are valued, teamwork is encouraged, and work-life balance is prioritised. I highly recommend it to those seeking a supportive and rewarding work environment.

I have joined the Aspire team at Goldhill In march 2022. This is my first job in care I have found that I have been supported In every way necessary and to a way that best suits me. I feel safe in the environment i work in and fully supported by my manager and colleagues. I find my shifts are very accommodating and we work together as a team. We are also trained to a very high standard and should we request extra training this is always completed. At Goldhill we have a strict no bullying policy this ensuring that everyone is treat with respect, dignity. Should we have our concerns we can discuss these in our regular supervisions and this will always be listened to and actioned in a way that best suits the staff and the clients we support. This is very important to me due to past experiences. Goldhill is the best place to grow in my career and I look forward to progressing with Goldhill.  

Given the nature of the institution, management's disregard for staff well-being at this mental health organisation is glaringly ironic. One would think that staff mental health would receive more attention, but instead, concerns are treated with deceptive strategies that minimise the truth of workers' experiences. Repercussions for whistleblowers include shorter shifts or complete termination of contracts. There is a widespread lack of confidentiality, which undermines trust and privacy since information is openly shared between service management and certain staff members. The working environment is quite unsettling. You'll get a free meal, and that's about the most nicest gesture the ckmoamy will offer. That meal you'll be cooking yourself by the way. There are many other places to work, with better support and pay 

I am currently employed at Goldhill house as a bank support worker whilst I am studying to be a mental health nurse in University. The option to be a bank support worker suits me very well. I have learnt a lot in my role which has actually made me understand the sector whilst I’m studying. The registered manager who is also the company service manager is very supportive, she makes time to spend time with all staff including myself as a bank worker.  Things are done by the book here which is reassuring to know clients are safe and at the heart of everything they do. Staff team is also very supportive and there is always someone to help when I need help. I would recommend working at Goldhill house to anyone. There is open shifts for all staff on their rota app which makes it easy for me to pick up shifts that suit my schedule. 

I have worked for Aspire for nearly 3 years and within that time have been able to progress from a "shop floor" position to management.  Throughout my employment with the company I have been very well supported, encouraged and given opportunities to grow and develop.  Where there have been issues, these have been dealt with fairly and in line with policies and procedures.

The care provided to the clients is person centred, holistic and to a very high standard and they work alongside multiple agencies involved in clients care.

If you want a place of employment that truly makes a difference to people, this is for you.  If you want a place of employment where you are valued and offered many opportunities for training and development this is the place to be.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I enjoyed meeting and getting to know the clients.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management who steamroller over anyone who doesn't want or need extra hours added to their contract.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Some days were lovely with nice staff and people that work hard and some days were the complete opposite.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
12 hour shift left in charge with two agency that, if I was lucky, had been before and knew what to do but more often than not two agency that didn't know the place and needed induction.  I was there a year, I was giving meds within a few months and in charge of a shift not long after that.  Very little support from management.
