This really is the worst place I have ever worked....

The problem is the management, they are a bunch of bullies and do not know the first thing about how to manage staff or a business. There is a real negative bully culture here, you will never get any recognition for your work however make one mistake and you will have disciplinarys thrown at you. 

The management have been here years, they do not accept fresh, new ideas and are stagnant. They will work you to the bone and expect you to work all hours however they will leave early every day just because they feel like it! Not a good example whatsoever. 

Staff turnover is truly shocking, I don't know how many hundred staff they need to go through before they realise they are the problem! 

Long hours, low pay, bad holiday allowance, I cannot name one benefit. It looks like a fairy tale from the outside however behind closed doors it is far from it. 

Start looking after your staff and maybe they will stay for longer than a few months.

I worked at Carden park as a young adult and was treated terribly by the management. Was told my looks and appearance were not as good as other females working alongside me so therefore could not work front of house/bar/waiting on. Instead the manager (mark) put me working in the half way house away from the club house which took away from the golf caddies (even though I was employed as a good and beverage assistant.) they also Emergancy taxed me for almost a year which I got back but was a huge inconvenience, I basically worked there for nothing for a while until they stopped taxing me. I confronted management about how they were treating me and they just slowly decreased my hours then to none at all, they basically fired me without telling me. Sexist establishment, male staff members were treated like gods and unless you were deemed as attractive female staff treated badly. 

Within my first few weeks at indeed I noticed that there is an incredibly supportive management structure within the hotel, head of departments seem to have a genuine interest in your working relationship but will also ask sincere questions to get to know you. Plenty of benefits that everyone has access to and a trainee management program that does allow movement across the company into different departments. So if it started out as a means to an end, it could ultimately become your career. Very friendly staff that go above and beyond at all levels, senior management are happy to get stuck in too, there's no ivory tower. 
Staff are recognised for hard work, and the positive feedback about individuals working in each area is daily. Fantastic company to work for. 

Carden Park is a fantastic company to work for, the owners are investing money in the correct areas to develop both the complex and work-life for employees. You are thoroughly looked after during your shifts here and it is a pleasure to work/part of the team here. The day to day work-life is fast paced but enjoyable along with the employees that also work here, everyone is very friendly and always there to help when needed. Upon starting my employement here I was provided with very detailed training to ensure I could complete the job to my best ability. Based on all my previous employments this is by far the best place I have every worked and I would look no further going forward. The staff benefits of working here are also very generous!!

Overall a Great Place to Work.

Unless you've got fake hair or body parts you are hugely under appreciated by management! Management slate their staff ALL THE TIME! BE KIND is NOT a thing in this place. For the sake of your mental health AVOID. Also say goodbye to your social life if your thinking of working here, as they can't seem to organise a rota between the entire management team! They also only allow you to go home for a maximum of 7 hours between some shifts, and will happily change your clock in/clock out times to best suit the budget (and the manager's end of year bonus). The entire (non-managerial) staff has some gripe about the place, but nothing ever seems to change. The whole place needs reporting to a watchdog or something.

This job was working all night setting functions or conferences ready for the following morning. In all honesty it was a lot of work for only 2 people and trying to balance a working/life style in this position was quite difficult. 
The management were friendly but didn't seem to bothered about the staff and if jobs weren't done they would just pull faces instead of telling us what needs doing. 
There seems to be a reason why they can't get too many people to do the job which is why I ended up trying to find something else. 
The other co-workers were friendly, hard working and we managed to get jobs done as a team.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The venue is lovely and some staff are genuinely nice however expectations are just far too unnecessary from staff and customers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is minimal training done and you are completely thrown in and made to feel incapable when you aren’t sure of something

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
All the staff behind the scenes are lovely and some management is great however those who are directly engaging with customers are rude and not understanding

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No enjoyment, feels hard to get through

Carden Park is located in a beautiful setting and unlike other places I have worked in, provides huge opportunities for progression across multiple departments.  

Whilst demanding high standards and commitment from all, management invested in my colleagues and I, whilst providing flexibility and support when we needed it. 

Carden Park provides job security for staff as customer demand is always high. Pay reviews are regular and there also many perks for staff too. 

In certain departments, home working is an option, which is often a rarity in the hospitality industry. 

The hardest part of the job is dealing with situations of conflict and complaints. But the best part are the benefits (free gym membership for example).
Every day is the same, I either work a breakfast shift where I clear table and serve tea and coffee or I work on an evening shift and wait on, take orders, serve food etc.
The management changes every few months as we don't stick to one restaurant manager - they come and go. But the supervisors who have worked here for some time are the nicest people you could meet - and very welcoming.
