First of all they deduct a 15 minutes off you, for a break you never have time to have. If the numbers of lunches go down expect to travel to another school.  The food is disgusting!!!Really vile.Not a nutritional meal Surprisingly the students  really don't like the food they offer.Its frozen . You really don't need any skills for the job as you are only taking something out of the freezer and reheating it.
The job itself is spent a lot of time training on ridiculous things. Like to probe everything that leaves the fridge. Why? I was told constantly.  This is how Educaterers do it!  They would be better giving staff proper NVQ catering training so they can cook good food.

The worst company I have ever worked for. The food for starters isn’t fit for a dog. Portions are so small. The quality of food is questionable, everything is frozen. There is no way this company complies to food standards!!!
Management are even worse. Absolutely no support whatsoever. Poor training and guidance.
Area managers are nothing but bullies who aren’t capable of doing your job themselves.
I feel for the poor children whose only meal is the slop the company expects you to serve. 
All they care about is making a profit, they DO NOT care about employees, or their costumers (the children) 


You work a month in advance and when you leave they take 75%of your wages.  Food is never fresh, portion sizes are to small for what you pay. Management on to much money when it's cooks and staff working their butt's off. Your not valued as a worker. Training you get thrown in at deep end,  then you have to do training in your own time that's unpaid and takes hours. High turn around in staff due to staff being unhappy. Pay is minimum, area managers do nothing but critize everyone makes the mood go right down. Hours keep getting reduced so you will end up earning hardly anything.

If you work here expect to be busy. Fast paced and physical work. Hours have been cut to a minimum but with the same amount of work to be completed. Online training is provided, which must be completed on your own time for which you are not paid. Staff must be aware of pupils with food allergies, special diets etc and must ensure they are given the correct food. A lot of responsibility for a few pence above minimum wage. 

It's a hard stressful job. Hours have been cut down to a minimum,  but still expect same amount of work to be done. Holidays are good, but trustme, you need them after working at full pelt from the kinute you go in to the minute you leave. Managing director doesn't take staff concerns seriously, things get brushed off in area meetings. Training is all online which in one way is good, as you don't have to travel, however it is to be completed in your own time unpaid of course. 

Took over by educateres  who do everything: educateres way ;  most food is frozen but promote fresh ingredients management are rude cake’s biscuits drinks non school compliant are plentiful when challenged about this they say it’s all compliant ( not by food standards it’s not ). Staff are poorly paid and have to pay back time or take days unpaid due to school closures or sickness portions would be great if you were on weight watchers !! 

Chance to work in a small team in a school kitchen. Baking fresh homemade puddings and meals from well thought out recipes that are all given to you in recipe books and updated regularly! Good rate of pay, good training provided and room for progression and supportive management!! Also, you get school holidays off and don’t have to work weekends!! 😁 

Do not go anywhere near them. Awful company expect everything from you they WILL not pay over time. You have to work your **** off for nothing no appreciation. Head office management are paid a stupidly high wage for doing  nothing, the people in the kitchens deserve the wage not them. The food is awful poor quality and frozen. The portions wouldn't even fill up a flea let alone a growing child.

Yes the work is fast paced, but you expect that in any food related business.  I have received both face to face and on line training relevant to my role.   I have been asked to help work at another school to cover sickness, but I was told that could happen at my interview, and they paid me petrol money.
Have worked for them over 3 years and not had any problems.
