It took me a while to settle but once I did it was a brilliant job. I lead fitness classes for the staff and supervised the children in the gym. 

Plenty of benefits like free food, top draw ground coffee and a free gym membership. 

The only regret I have was leaving. If it wasn't for covid I wouldn't have. A job for life if you want it. 

My advice don't leave once you are in. 



Management should know about what industry they r running they should know how to movtivate the team catering management team is disgusting. First of all in Marlborough college catering never great and smile never own the problem if tell them about something to improve manages r telling this is just a college no need a improvement 

Salary is weighted wrong. Lots of senior management with massive wages but the rest are struggling.  Poor staffing levels due to watching others get away with doing nothing/very little and being paid more. OT only goes to a select few. 

Procedures aren't followed. Staff left in bad situations and no-one follows up anything.

Worked the bar over the duration of the College's summer school. Was a lot of fun in a great venue with a fantastic team of young people. Serving many patrons of the summer school events and tending to the bar over busy events and weekends. Hardest part was organising rotas as everyone was part time but rotas changed weekly, as can be the case in bar work.

Marlborough College is a prestigeous yet rerlaxed environment for all kinds of employee. All departments enjoy a frindly and civil worker to worker relationship fostered by a very high dignity at work ethic.

Unique working environment with all boarders but excellent and collaborative place to work on the whole. The teaching and non-teaching departments vary in their work but the varied and supportive culture permeates.

Had this job during my studies. My managers were always flexible when wanting to swap shifts or training. 

Typically had some amount of breaks during the day and was encouraged to use the sports facilites.

Privilege to work in such a high end school catering for amazing pupils. over 3000 meals a day served with a busy hospitality and events schedule.
