Job overview

The Tuberculosis and Respiratory CNS service is committed to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient‑centred care, ensuring equitable access for all individuals, including those from vulnerable communities. We focus on early diagnosis, prevention, and timely intervention, supported by clear, sensitive, and culturally informed communication. Our priority is maintaining patient engagement. Our team works collaboratively with multidisciplinary and public health partners to deliver seamless pathways, continually improving our service through evidence‑based practice, data quality, audit, and patient feedback. This philosophy guides the administrative and clinical functions of the service to ensure excellent patient experience and high standards of care.

Main duties of the job

The Administrator will provide high‑level, autonomous administrative and coordination support to the Tuberculosis (TB) and Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team. Working independently and using initiative, the post holder will manage complex patient pathways, oversee clinic scheduling, maintain high‑quality data for monitoring and public health reporting, and act as a primary point of contact for patients, clinical teams, and external partners. The role requires proactive problem‑solving, ownership of administrative processes, and the ability to make informed decisions within defined limits to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the TB and respiratory services. The post holder will contribute to service development, identify administrative improvements, and support the CNS team in delivering a safe and responsive service. The post holder will provide assistance to the respiratory department when required and as requested.
