Full job description

Overview

I’m looking for an extremely organised, proactive and reliable Part-Time Business & Brand Assistant to support me with the day-to-day running and continued growth of my beauty business.

The business is growing and I’ve reached the stage where I need another pair of hands. I’m looking for someone I can trust to take ownership of tasks, keep things organised, respond to general queries and help move the brand forward.

This will be a varied role combining administration, customer support, social media, marketing and practical business tasks, so no two days will necessarily look the same.

I’m particularly looking for someone who is a quick learner, confident with technology and social media, and able to work independently using their own initiative.

You don’t need to know everything from day one — but you do need to be willing to learn, organised, dependable and comfortable figuring things out.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting the day-to-day administration of the business
Responding professionally to general customer enquiries
Managing emails, correspondence and basic customer communications
Data entry and maintaining accurate business records
Creating and updating spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
Creating and editing documents using Microsoft Word and Google Docs
Maintaining organised digital and physical business files
Assisting with invoices, expenses and basic bookkeeping/admin
Helping with order administration, stock management and other practical business tasks
Supporting social media across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook
Assisting with planning, preparing and scheduling social media content
Helping create simple marketing materials, presentations and branded content
Researching snd creating social media trends, competitors, beauty trends and potential opportunities for the brand
Supporting promotions, product launches and marketing campaigns
Helping organise meetings, appointments and business activities where required
Assisting with general behind-the-scenes tasks involved in running a growing beauty business
Identifying things that need doing and taking the initiative to help resolve them

As the business grows, there may be opportunities to take ownership of particular areas of the business and increase your responsibilities.

Essential Skills

I’m looking for someone who:

Is confident using social media and understands platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook
Is comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel
Is comfortable with or willing to learn Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Sheets and Drive and excel.
Has good general computer and technology skills
Has strong written and verbal communication skills
Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Can manage several tasks and priorities effectively
Is a quick learner
Is reliable and trustworthy
Can work independently from home eventually and within the office.
Is comfortable using their own initiative
Has a positive, proactive approach to work
Can communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and other contacts
Is willing to learn new systems and software as the business develops

There may also be personal admin assistance needed for day to day general things a PA would also assist with as part of the role.

Desirable — But Not Essential

Experience or an interest in any of the following would be a bonus:

Beauty / cosmetics Marketing Social media management Content creation E-commerce Canva Customer service IT

Previous administrative experience would be beneficial, but I’m also open to someone with the right attitude, ability and willingness to learn.

The Person I’m Looking For

This is important to me.

I’m not simply looking for someone who waits to be given a list of instructions every day.

I need someone who can eventually look at something and think:

“I’ve noticed this needs doing — I’ll sort it.”

I’m juggling alot alongside growing the business, so I need someone who can genuinely take some of the workload off my shoulders.

You’ll be working closely with me, so I’m looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work and genuinely wants to see the brand succeed.

This could be a particularly exciting opportunity for someone interested in beauty, business, branding or marketing who would like to gain hands-on experience helping to grow a beauty brand.

Role Details

Position: Part-Time Business & Brand Assistant

Hours: 2 days a week to start with, possibly increasing to 3/4 5 months from now - 4 hours minimum each day (can vary here fairly flexible here)

Pay: £11 - £13 per hour depending on experience

Location: RM12, working at the office

Start Date: Immediately

Although much of the role can be completed from home, this is not a fully remote position. There will be occasions when I need physical, hands-on support with the business , so applicants will need to live within reasonable travelling distance of Hornchurch, Essex
