Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and baking, with a keen eye for food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a busy bakery environment, contributing to the creation of delicious baked goods for our valued customers. The Bakery Assistant will support daily operations, assist with food preparation, and ensure that all products meet our high standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of baked goods, and cakes.
Support the food production process by measuring ingredients accurately and following recipes precisely.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and bakery areas in accordance with food safety standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and other baking tools.
Ensure all baked products are prepared to the specified quality standards before presentation or sale.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist with stock control by checking inventory levels and notifying management of shortages or expiry dates.
Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues during busy periods.

Experience

Previous experience in food production, food preparation or cooking is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous.
Knowledge of baking techniques and culinary practices is preferred.
Familiarity with food safety protocols and hygiene standards is beneficial.
A genuine interest in baking and culinary arts, coupled with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills. This role provides an excellent platform for individuals passionate about baking and food preparation to grow their skills within a professional environment committed to quality and safety.

Job Type: Part-time
