Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and organisation within the clinic. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about patient care and looking to develop their career in dental nursing. The role involves working closely with patients and team members to deliver exceptional dental services in a professional environment.

Duties

Assisting dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including preparing instruments and materials.
Ensuring patient comfort and providing reassurance throughout treatments.
Taking and developing dental radiographs as required.
Managing patient records accurately using IT systems and maintaining confidentiality.
Providing pre- and post-treatment care instructions to patients.
Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment to meet infection control standards.
Organising appointment schedules and managing patient flow efficiently.
Supporting the team with administrative tasks such as stock management and ordering supplies.
Communicating clearly with patients regarding treatment plans, aftercare, and general enquiries.

Requirements

Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Basic IT skills, including familiarity with dental practice management software.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to reassure anxious patients.
Relevant nursing qualification or certification recognised within the UK healthcare system.
Ability to work well within a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
