Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations, providing excellent customer service and ensuring shelves are fully stocked with products.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
Maintain the organisation and presentation of merchandise on the shop floor
Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management
Provide product information and upselling suggestions to maximise sales opportunities
Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and process payments efficiently
Answer customer queries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
Support visual merchandising standards to enhance store appeal
Ensure the store remains clean, tidy, and well-organised throughout the day
Manage time effectively to prioritise tasks during busy periods

Requirements

Strong communication skills with a friendly phone etiquette
Must be able to work early mornings (7am starts) and/or late nights (10.30pm finish)
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
Experience in merchandising or retail is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed promptly
Ability to not just work as part of a team, but independently also
Demonstrated ability to upsell products and enhance customer experience
Full driving licence desirable
