Product Development Technical Co-ordinator

Swansea, SA6 8PJ

Permanent | Monday to Friday | Hybrid working | 30 – 37.5 hours (TBC)

Salary: £28,000 - £30, 000 per annum (FTE)

At Something Different Wholesale, we're passionate about creating exciting products that customers love. We're looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Product Development Technical Co-ordinator to join our Buying & Design team and play a key role in bringing hundreds of new products to market every year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, documentation and processes, whilst developing valuable skills in product development, compliance and product safety. No two days are the same, and there's always something new to learn.

Working closely with Buyers, Designers, and overseas suppliers, you'll help ensure our products are launch-ready, compliant and supported by accurate technical documentation.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Product Development Support

Supporting the Buying & Design team throughout the product development process.
Coordinating information between Buying, Design, Compliance and suppliers.
Maintaining accurate product information throughout development.

Technical Documentation & Compliance

Preparing and maintaining technical files and product records.
Creating and managing Declarations of Conformity and supporting documentation.
Maintaining compliance databases, trackers and audit-ready records.
Supporting ongoing improvements to compliance processes and systems.

Product Testing

Coordinating third-party testing with external laboratories.
Monitoring testing progress and following up outstanding reports.
Reviewing test documentation and ensuring actions are completed before launch.

Supplier & Product Information

Liaising with overseas suppliers regarding testing, documentation and technical information.
Coordinating product labelling and packaging requirements.
Supporting multilingual packaging requirements for EU markets.
Maintaining accurate product data across systems.

Additional Opportunities

As part of our Buying & Design team, you'll also have the opportunity to get involved in:

Competitor shopping and trend research
Wider Buying & Design projects as the business continues to grow.

Essential Skills & Experience

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong Microsoft Office knowledge.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Experience working with data and documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience within product development, buying, technical, quality or compliance.
Experience working with overseas suppliers.
Knowledge of product testing processes.
Experience maintaining technical documentation.
Understanding of UK or EU product regulations.
Experience using ERP or product management systems.
